CHILDREN'S POEM

  EASTER EGG

In my hand I have an egg; it's wrapped up very tight

Its shapes not round its oval and its colour's very bright.

I'm not sure what's inside my egg, it could be lots of things

Like a yummy yellow yolk or a chick with tiny wings.

Humpty Dumpty was an egg,  but he fell off the wall.

My favourite egg's the sweetie kind, cause they taste best of all.

I know some eggs are very hard and made of different stuff

And once I made an egg shaped toy from wool and bits of fluff.

I don't mind that I can't see what's in my egg so deep

My Granny gave this egg to me and said it's mine to keep

So shiny egg your secrets safe, I cross my heart and say

That I'll won't take the smallest peep, until its Easter day.
