CHILDREN'S POEM
SIDNEY SNODGRASS
Sidney Snodgrass was a terrible boy the most retched kind you could meet
He put slime in is hair, grease on his face and poured mud all over his feet.
His mother poor woman knew not what to do and cried from morning till night
Till one day she hatched a wonderful plan to give Sidney a terrible fright.
She put gel in his slime tin, changed his grease for some cream,
and instead of mud she put soap
Then she waited to see what Sidney did, as she crossed her fingers in hope.
A miracle happened that very same day that shook our Sidney to the core.
For his hair it looked sleek, his face smooth and clear
and his feet left no marks on the floor.
Now Sidney Snodgrass that terrible boy is changed beyond compare
No more muddy feet or black greasy face or slime all over his hair.
Sidney's mother is so pleased and proud of her son it has to be said.
So let's all be hopeful that she never sees what lies beneath Sidney's bed
