My name is Mari Gallagher and I am the Class Teacher for Jolly Babies, Music with Mummy and Three Four Time pre school music classes here in Glasgow. I have an absolute love of music, and have had from a very early age.
I began playing the violin and trombone at school before discovering that I actually preferred and was better at singing, so I joined a local choir and took up the guitar instead. At secondary school I studied music, took part in many of the school shows as well as singing in the junior and senior choirs.
When I left school I continued my passion for music and singing by joining Amateur Musical Theatre Groups where over the years I have taken part in lots of musicals and reviews, as well as touring with a fantastic concert group for many years.
I put my hobby on hold to concentrate on bringing up my family and since the birth of my daughter in 2005 I have discovered the delight of singing with children, so when I stumbled upon the opportunity to be a 'Da Capo Music Partnership' teacher it seemed like a natural progression for me.
Before I took up this position I looked into severel other pre school music business opportunities, but I kept coming back to 'Da Capo Music Partnership'. I learned very quickly that all pre school music classes are not the same. The fact that 'Da Capo Music Partnership' attracts so many music teachers, musicians and singers to become class teachers is a real testament to the high quality of their music and class material. I consider them to have the perfect balance in their musical education system, providing pre school children everywhere with a first class musical experience.
I run 'Jolly Babies' from my home in Crookston and I run 'Music with Mummy' and 'Three Four' Time from a small cosy room at the Pro Soccer Complex in Rouken Glen Park. Both these venues offer the perfect environment for helping to instill confidence in babies, toddlers and young children.
Through my pre school music classes I am introducing babies, toddlers and young children to the delights of not only music and rhythm but so much more besides. I really can't think of a more enjoyable job to be doing than this.
